Fiction: You, Surrender To

Have you ever felt like you had no other choice but to surrender to the power of the moment? Here are some thoughts and examples.

You talk to somebody for a while, and at some point, physical touch only feels like an addition to the intensity and does not make up the foundation of your attraction. Your platonic mind-connection is much more fierce than physical touch can ever be. It is only used when words aren’t enough to fully express how you feel.

You surrender to what he proposes.

You only use perfumes that you feel complement you the most, which make you feel more you and more younique. You assume he does the same. And throughout the evening, you cannot help but smell him more than you can see him.

You surrender to his scent.

You realize that you have less and less physical obstacles inbetween each other, that all barriers are removed, or have removed themselves, throughout the course of the evening, which increases the tension by a large. Was it accidental or intentional? You don’t know for sure.

Nevertheless, you surrender to his touch.

You notice that his pupils dilate while he talks to you. You hope he notices the same about you. You hope for it to be true, and not you being delusional or overly-optimistic. You cannot help but wonder if the chemistry is truly as real as it seems.

You surrender to his eyes.

You listen to every little detail he shares with you, which is not to be taken for granted. He shares his preferences, his worries, his thoughts, his plans, his past with you. You listen and try to understand how situations have shaped him. You cannot help but like his tone and his voice.

You surrender to his words.

You pay attention to his mood shifts, and try to decipher whether or not he honestly means what he says. You are not being judgmental or hasty, jumping straight to negative conclusions, but you are being careful and attentive. Still, you are so lost in the moment, you forget to actually pay attention.

You surrender to his being.

You look at his hands and arms and you cannot help but wonder how they would feel around you if he were to touch you.

And later, when he does touch your face softly, you cannot help but surrender to him, entirely.
