Both materiality and immateriality can leave you at any time. Both can be taken away from you at any given second. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not comparing things to people or people to things. No. All I’m saying is that one day both can be gone in a hearbeat, without a warning or a sign. Poof, gone, away.
Especially regarding immateriality, it is far less predictable and totally unstoppable to prevent people from leaving you, be it intentional or accidental.
Whereas with materiality, things don’t just leave all by themselves because dead things don’t move. But dead people don’t move either. So, where is the difference then?
Both are so distinct in its nature, so that they are almost alike.
Immateriality can be taken away from you just as materiality can, you just don’t decide when it happens. Materiality, however, can only be taken from you when you decide to take it away, or when accidents happen. But people can leave you without any accidents or reasonable reasons.
The confusion around almost one and the same word, only differing by the beginning letters, or the lack thereof, creates loneliness and sadness. But also relief.
Most of all though, it creates space; space for something or someone new.
